Everybody’s in the Room Again
Current works in the solo exhibition
Ellen Akimoto reflects the complexity and ambiguity of our surroundings and our social selves in her predominantly figurative painting. She employs skewed perspectives, stylistic mixtures, and a tension between the familiar and the disturbing to create eerie spaces where forms are generated through painterly gestures and digital collages. The resulting images are fragments of worlds filled with contradictions and showcasing possible alternatives.
